I’m learning to be a good batter
And I’m learning to get a big enough lead to catch the pitchers attention
And I’m learning to have more fun
Not to turn my back on a 70 mph fastball heading straight to me
And I’m learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not dive on a rock hard infield with no sand on it
And I’m learning to throw super hard and be accurate
When I sometimes lean back, lose my balance and almost bean the kid
And I’m learning that its much much easier to be loose when I play
